Nama sushi in Oakland is a quaint medium sized restaurant located on Fruitvale Ave in Oakland. Its in the shared parking lot as Farmer Joe's, CVS, and a skin care studio. They've made delicious Japanese food for decades and still have great quality sushi and ramen which is what I order when I go since I don't eat much meat.
The Shoyu ramen with spicy tofu is my favorite so far. It's a rich dark broth very flavorful not too spicy at all with contents of fresh ramen noodles, tofu, bamboo, bean sprouts, and a type of dark leafy greens ( without steams).
I also love the crunch roll which is a deep fried cali roll topped with a dark sweet sauce and a creamy based sauce Excellent.
The seaweed salad is delicious ! extra thinly sliced seaweed with sesame oil and seeds crunchy and very very healthy for you.
My daughter loves loves loves their calamari which comes in deep fried small strips seasoned and a medium heat spicy dipping sauce. Everything is perfect everytime I visit. -

Ordered their Lunch Fried Chicken Karaage Combo $12 + Mixed Sashimi ($9). The fried chicken was decent but the portion was not worth the 12 dollars. Even more disappointing was my mixed sashimi 9 dollar add-on which came out to be 2 thinly sliced tuna sashimi and 2 thinly sliced salmon.
What a rip off. Never coming back here again. Expensive and small portions. I'm still hungry. -

Disappointing to have another not very good restaurant in the neighborhood. I had high hopes for them and tried it 3x. Once was a to go order and I threw most of it out.
Another time we ate in the restaurant. The third time a friend who didn't know we didn't like their food brought us dinner from there.
Nothing was great. And I do not want to mess with mediocre sushi. -

While strolling around Oakland, we stumbled upon this gem of a place. Located right near Dimond Park, this upscale Asian fusion spot has ramen, Korean, and Japanese options great for everyone. Although it is a little bit more expensive than what you might be used to, the food tastes so fresh and authentic. I also REALLY enjoyed the miso soup, freshly made in house. Hope to come back next time I'm in CA!

OVERPRICED! Not worth it! With so many better choices, don't waste your money. The sushi is mediocre at best, overpriced and the menu is very small. I should have known when there was only 4 people in the restaurant that something was up. Also, check your bill. There were 2 items we didn't order! The only good part is the decor which still doesn't make up for the food. I wish I had looked here before I went there. Beware!!!!
